Comox Valley Division of Family Practice

Cottage Medical Clinic

This highly dedicated collegial group of three family physicians are looking to add to their team! The physicians work together to deliver optimized patient care and are part of the Primary Care Network with access to Allied Health Care workers including an RN, social worker, mental health clinician, pharmacist, and dietitian. It is important to the team to create a warm, welcoming environment for patients, staff, and physicians.

The newly renovated and updated clinic is housed in a character cottage from the 1930s. All the rooms are spacious and bright, with plenty of exam rooms and offices for you to work in. The garden, and a grapevine located right above the main entrance, provide shade and a calm environment from the first step you enter the property. It is conveniently located in the vibrant downtown area of Courtenay, close to shopping and restaurants with plenty of free parking space for patients, staff, and physicians.

The clinic is supported by dedicated, experienced MOA staff, who provide excellent service to both patients and physicians.

The 153-bed acute care facility, the Comox Valley Hospital (opened in 2017) provides a wide range of diagnostic and specialty in-patient and out-patient services.  Five accredited Long Term Care homes and a 6-bed Hospice are also part of the medical services in our community. The Valley is one of Vancouver Island’s best-kept secrets! It includes the unique communities of Comox (a relaxed seaside town), Courtenay (a bustling urban city), Cumberland (a young and artistic village), and the idyllic rural areas from Fanny Bay in the South to Black Creek in the North including the islands of Hornby and Denman. It is surrounded by majestic mountains, and rainforest areas, lies right on the Salish Sea, and is one of the fastest-growing areas in Canada.

The winters are short and mild with warm, dry summers. There are several annual festivals, a theatre providing year-round performing arts, great boutique shopping, excellent restaurants, farmers' markets, and vineyards. Mount Washington Ski Resort has 1700 acres of terrain and is only 30 minutes outside the city. Cumberland has world-renowned mountain biking trails that can be ridden year-round.
