Now accepting referrals for nerve block and trigger point injection treament. Referrals are covered by MSP.

 

We are accepting referrals for the following pain conditions:

  • Headaches - Migraines, post-traumatic, cervicogenic and tension-type

  • Neck pain, shoulder pain, upper and lower back pain

  • Regional Myofascial Pain Syndrome

  • Atypical Facial Pain

  • Fibromyalgia

 

The clinic does not offer procedures which involve sedation or general anaesthesia. We are NOT providing spinal anaesthesia or caudal epidurals.

Please note that patients with the following conditions are NOT suitable candidates:

  • Bleeding disorders/Anticoagulated patients

  • Pregnancy/breastfeeding/children under 18

  • Immunocompromised patients

  • Patients with needle-phobia. Please ensure that your patients understand that our treatments include injections so patients should be comfortable with needles

  • Patients with leg dominant LBP/Sciatica/Radiculopathy

  • Patients who have untreated substance abuse conditions

  • Patients without Primary Care Physician or Walk-In Clinic able to provide ongoing care. Our clinic does not refill prescriptions for patients’ regular medications or painkillers and/or narcotics.


Please note: Open WorkSafeBC cases cannot be referred without prior WorkSafe approval. As per CPSBC guidelines, we do not prescribe opioids for headaches, mechanical back pain, or fibromyalgia.

Please ensure that the patient has been investigated for any concerning symptoms or conditions, and that these have been excluded prior to referral to the Kelowna Nerve Block and Trigger Point Clinic.

Please attach any relevant consults, imaging reports, and, or investigations (within the last two years), and provide as much relevant clinical information as possible. Incomplete referrals will not be accepted.
