Compensation Options

Multiple compensation models are available to Family Physicians in BC, allowing you to take full advantage of the model that aligns best with the way you want to practice. More information about BC's more popular compensation models can be found below.

Other compensation options exist in addition to these payment models, including the Alternative Payments Program.

Longitudinal Family Practice Payment Model: This model recognizes the additional administrative and other burdens associated with providing longitudinal care to a patient panel. Learn More.

New to Practice Payment Model: This model offers a competitive, predictable income for Family Physicians who are just starting to build their panels. Learn More.

Fee for Service Payment Model: Prior to the LFP payment model, this was the most common payment model among Family Physicians. Many have remained with this model for a variety of reasons. Learn More.
