Dr. Emma Jones - Vice Chair
Emma graduated with an MD from the University of Calgary in 2017, and was very pleased to match to the Family Medicine program in her hometown of Victoria. Prior to medical school, she completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Victoria. During medical school, Emma was an Executive Member of the Family Medicine Interest Group, organizing events to promote the profession of Family Medicine to my fellow medical students. Through this role, she had the opportunity to serve as a Board Member on the Board of the Alberta College of Family Physicians. Emma was inspired by the efforts of the College to see the profession flourish and meet the needs of patients in effective and innovative ways. She also served as the Chair of the Executive of the Student Run Clinic in Calgary, leading a group of medical students to collaborate with family physicians to provide health care to residents of a local shelter for homeless families. Emma is passionate about comprehensive, community-based primary care, and look forward to working with the South Island Division of Family Practice to improve the lives of both physicians and patients.
